This morning I have been speaking with a representative of Comhaltas who teach Irish Music and Setdancing and are putting on a great day out for families on Sunday 25 March at the Collingwood Town Hall. In case you don't know the St Patricks Day Parade is not happening this year and there is vey little taking place on St Patrick's Night itself. Although as a family and school we are very busy with Fiona's wedding then travelling to Glasgow soon after, I promised the contact I would spread the word about their event. As soon as I have more detail I will post it on this site. The City of Yarra has asked Comhaltas to organise this event which involves workshops in the Senior Citizens Hall next to the Collingwood Town Hall as well as the free concert in the Town Hall. They are also looking for a few dancers to perform during the concert so if any teachers are interested contact me direct and I will give you the contact details. I believe Gaelic Park at Keysborough are also holding their National Day on Sunday March 25. This involves football, hurling music and a ceili in the hall.
