Oh, definitely (though I think "Naked Ambition" kind of loses its way after the first act -- the Bobby/Connnie/Joseph stuff doesn't go anywhere and the ending is too abrupt -- and the Dale/Bill/Boomhauer B story is the real highlight).

Heh. Well, I don't want to make it sound like I have anything against breast jokes and such -- I don't. But that's not, IMO, the point of the character, and what happened around season 4 or 5 is that Luanne started to be used almost exclusively for standard dumb-blonde jokes, i.e. a) Saying really stupid things, and b) Breast jokes. The stuff that made the character interesting -- like her sad/pathetic background, her uneasy relationship with Hank, and her status as someone who was almost but not quite a member of the family -- was pushed to the side. "The Good Buck" was an excellent episode, but it was a bit disappointing to me at the time because it was Luanne's first appearance on the show since the boxing episode, and with such a long wait I was naturally hoping it would have something to say about her character, rather than using her as a plot device.
