Subject: I think Stephan can! Perhaps the reminder of Jamie is just what John needs to get his attention, and over time, he definitely becomes intrigued with Stephan on his own merits, don't you think? At least I hope John will continue to become more and more intrigued when next we see him, and Stephan as well. I see what you mean about Stephan possibly having to compete with the "shade" of James Fraser, but I think overall it's a good thing that there's finally someone in John's life who he can even think of in the vicinity of Jamie. Drink tea, get lots of sleep, and feel better, Jane!!!

  • Oh, I agree - Stephan's own merits in adition to those that echo Jamie's are what develops their friendship and its potential over time. It's a good thing, I think, that geography and time separate them and they each have time to grow rather than act on the infatuation and urgings of a moment.
