ON a more serious note, however- Grey's reactions in this scene, his words- a part of me does wonder if it was a sort of helplessness here- as if just being in Lavender House was a test for him- to see if he could stand his memories of the time after Hector's death, of who he used to be and who he was trying to be-->

It almost seems to be, when he tells the man to pretend that he isn't there, that it is more for John's benefit than anything else. That he cannot help but need the comfort of human flesh, the reminder that he is alive, and yet-- he doesn't want to have to rely on these things, to be reminded of his needs, his solitude.
