Subject: I felt that also, he needed to be anonymous about it, to deny that he was ever a regular part of the disolution of Lavendar House. It's a reckless youth that could have cost him his life and his family's honor and he would rather not be tempted by it again yet the young man (I wonder will he show up again?) tempts him when he is tired, drained, and surrounded by memories of George Everett and the brief pleasure of being as he is. did that make sense?
In reply to: Oleander 's message, "Oh that's right. LMAO that made me laugh really hard. LOL. ON a more serious note, however- Grey's reactions in this scene, his words- a part of me does wonder if it was a sort of helplessness here- as if just being in Lavender House was a test for him- to see if he could stand his memories of the time after Hector's death, of who he used to be and who he was trying to be-->" on 12:37:28 10/31/07 Wed

  • Makes perfect sense Karen I'm pretty sure we all did things when we were young that have continued to haunt us when we were older. The "what ifs" and the if MY kids ever did that I would KILL them! John was very lucky only getting sent to Ardsmuir when he was "disgraced" that whatever it was didn't become public knowledge and ruin not just him but his family as well. I am sure he felt he'd dodged a bullet. (NT) -- Jane, 14:41:02 10/31/07 Wed

  • Not only that, but maybe realized that life was still worth living eh? Since Ardsmuir, I think John structured his life so much more carefully. Liasons such as this were dangerous and could potentially be his down fall. And yet, I think that the pull of the flesh, the affirmation of touching another human being in an intimate way, is and was necessary for a man living in such secrecy.
