  • Hmmm, this one reminds me that Stephan is a lot taller than John, and there is an undercurrent of romance even in this brief description. Certainly if this were a traditional romance, there might be a kiss after such a searching look, and touch on the nape... *g* One of the intriguing and enjoyable things about the Lord John books, for me, is thinking about the ways DG plays with, and subverts, genre conventions, from romance to mystery to military historical, and probably others I am forgetting. • You are so GREAT at putting things into words Pamela! Nothing "traditional romance" about Diana's style, thank goodness. I am so glad that she didn't cheapen this growing affection by making it move too fast. I like that we "met" them back in 2003 and we still aren't exactly sure where their relationship is heading, but still enjoy being along for the ride. (NT) -- Jane, 06:19:28 10/02/07 Tue
