Subject: I couldn't wait to share this scene, in a graveyard in Germany, shortly after Von Namtzen has given John his beloved white stallion Karolus. I think this gift is more telling of Stephan’s feelings for John than anything we’ve seen so far. Since Stephan is a wealthy man any material expensive gift wouldn’t have mattered greatly but knowing how much Stephan valued Karolus makes this gift VERY significant.

  • I seem to be getting mixed messages here. Was John confused, too? (NT) -- tlk2vicki, 18:18:48 10/03/07 Wed

  • I'm not thinking that John is "confused", just that he isn't going to force Stephan's hand or make any move based on what may be assumptions. There is so much at risk for both of them and they have so much to lose. Even if he were positive of Stephan's feelings John would have to consider that should they be caught there would be a high price society would extract from not just them but their families as well. John and Stephan's very lives would be at risk and while John might risk it for himself he would naturally consider what such and exposure might do to Stephan, Hal and his Mother, Princess Louisa and Stephan's children, and the Princess herself. Tomorrow's quote will pretty much sum this thought up. (NT) -- Jane, 20:45:53 10/03/07 Wed
