Subject: Yup Julie . . . Got them. But . . . there was much that either wasn't in the companions (or I just couldn't find it there.) Anyway, I spent an inordinate amount of time looking up stuff and writing my own 'footnotes' on the page. A bit compulsive? Yeah, I guess. LOL Am I the only one who looks up words in DG's books, as well? Sometimes I'm not sure exactly what a word means and if I don't get it from the context . . . out comes the dictionary or my computer! Those, I put on a sticky note in the front of the book cuz I don't write in DG's books. *G* Anyway, my point (I knew I had one, somewhere) was that it would be much easier if the footnotes were on the page - or - in the back of the book in page order. I guess I'm hard to please. (running away now . . . )
In reply to: JulieP 's message, "There is a Dorothy Dunnett Companion compiled by Elspeth Morrison. The Companion references most of the quotes in the Lymond Chronicles and the House of Niccolo books, as well as info on historical characters such as Mary Queen of Scots." on 10:13:13 10/09/07 Tue
