I agree. I do think Percy was more willing to take emotional risk. I felt like it was John's honour and integrity which kept him from being able to tell or show Percy that he loved him, because he loves Jaime and feels it as a sort of betrayal to himself- or even Hector (before he and Percy have a chance to...hrmph....he asks Hector if he minds). John is so loyal, this must be a burnden for him at times. -- LJG Discussion board

I was a little surprised when John admits to himself that he wished that he never laid eyes on Jamie, although it is completely understandable, given the circumstances. - Yes! This is another layer to add to John's anguish in the stable scene. He cannot love Percy *enough* (something) while his heart is not wholely his, but belongs to Jaime. For Jaime to question his ability to love another man, when it is Johns love for Jaime that is preventing him from entering fully into a relationship with Percy, and all of the consequences of that...poor John!
