Subject: Yes, I see that. But Jamie's there to swoon over, so it is really quite remarkable how John manages to hold his own in such company! I also think it has something to do with the way he is able to be friends with women. In fact, his relationships with women are a really interesting area to explore, especially since his mother has that "honorary MacKenzie" quality (I loved that idea below - sorry I can't remember who said it!). He respects women, and I think he understands a lot about women. But he's not effeminate; it's not about sharing make-up tips and that kind of silliness. I love how we see him with Tom Byrd in this book, always very concerned about his clothes, but his look is very elegant, severe, and masculine.
In reply to: Conmama 's message, "Hi Pamela. I think it could be that just taken as "a man", he's got so many swoon-worthy charateristics that we'd find in any hetero-man. Then there's this little iggly-sense (like Jane said), of the challenge. Even if you couldn't make them come over to the other side, maybe we could confuse them a bit?" on 06:42:13 09/07/07 Fri
