The first thing I would do is wait for as long as you can two weeks at least. This will give your hair a chance to recuperate from first attempt at haircolor. I would then try to match your root color and dye it back. I've found that whatever color you pick, it will lighten a little over time. There are three levels of haircolor; some more permanent than others. I know someone trying to get out of the hair color/streaking, etc. she's using Clairol Natural Instincts (level 2); I'm using a permanent hair color (level 3). I'd try Natural Instincts so you don't end up putting more ammonia on it when you apply your new root color. I think this would be your best way "out". I wouldn't go to hair salon for color; their dyes are even stronger and harder on your hair. Good luck
