FITCH SCORES 26 POINTS AS HOT SHOOTING VIKINGS TOP LYON 78-64 SATURDAY
Guard 9-for-12 From Floor To Lead Four In Twin Digits

MOUNT BERRY, Ga....Guard Cameron Fitch scored a game high 26 points to lead Berry College to a 78-64 victory over Lyon College in a TranSouth Athletic Conference men's basketball game at Ford Gym in Mount Berry Saturday.

Fitch had a strong shooting night, hitting 9-of-12 shots from the
floor, including five of six three-point attempts. He wasn't the only
Viking to light it up, though. The entire team, it seemed, could not miss. Berry shot 67 percent in the game, hitting 30 of 45 shots, including 7-for-14 from beyond the tree-point arc.

Meanwhile, Berry's defense was strong, as well. The Vikings held Lyon to 40 percent shooting in the game, and allowed the Scots to hit just three of 17 three-point attempts, an 18 percent mark. Berry also forced 17 turnovers.

Berry never trailed in the game. After Fitch began the afternoon's scoring with a layup 23 seconds into the game, Lyon tied the score on Brandon Byrd's putback 17 seconds later. But Jonathan Reddell would hit a three-pointer one minute into the game, and Berry never looked back.

Fitch also grabbed five rebounds and dished out five assists. Ben Elliott scored 14 points, Tramaine Aaron added 11 and Reddell chipped in 10 points and a game-high seven boards for the Vikings.

Norris Weintz scored a team-high 20 for Lyon.

The Vikings return to action Saturday, when they host TranSouth rival Lee. Tipoff has been changed to 8 p.m. Originally, the game was scheduled for 4 p.m.
