BLUE MOUNTAIN UPSETS No. 14 BERRY LADY VIKINGS 76-70
Four Lady Vikes Reach Double Figures; Izard Still Stuck on 399 Wins

BLUE MOUNTAIN, Miss....Britney Wetherington led four Berry College players in double figures, but Blue Mountain College upset the No. 14 Lady Vikings 76-70 in a TranSouth Athletic Conference women's basketball game in Blue Mountain, Miss., Saturday.

The Lady Vikings (14-4, 0-2) dropped their third consecutive game, leaving head coach Jim Izard stuck on 399 career victories.  Izard is in his third year at Berry and his 22nd as a collegiate head coach.

Wetherington, a junior guard/forward, led the Lady Vikings with 21 points and grabbed seven rebounds.  Freshman center Lauren Phillips scored 15 points for Berry while sophomore forward Deana Duncan and sophomore guard Cori Cason each chipped in 11 points.

Blue Mountain (8-5, 1-1) rebounded nicely from its TranSouth opener Thursday night, in which it lost to Trevecca Nazarene 102-51.

The Lady Vikings return home this Thursday, when they host Union University at 6 p.m. in the first game of a doubleheader.  Berry's men's team hosts Union at approximately 8 p.m.
