Author: Claire Gabriel
Subject: Post-508 fanfic novel

Last summer, I posted a story here about Nikita's father. I've just posted its sequel--a novel-length story about Nikita and Michael--on my web page. SHOOTING THE MOON is way too long for a detailed critique from the Beta Board; nobody would have the time. So I asked a few friends to beta it privately, and then posted it for recreational reading. I thought you folks might like to take a look. If so, go to

http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/cgadziko/StM01.html

Some comments from beta readers and listsibs:

"What a tale.... Reveled in the total knowing, the small intimate touches (I mean touches you put in, not the physical touching they did) which had nothing to do with sex, just deep certain knowing of the other."

"All I can say, folks, is that it's a wonderful way to spend an
afternoon. Eases my addict's cravings for new LFN, both emotionally and intellectually."

"Two days later and I can't get this story out of my head. I haven't wanted to read post-508 fics for fear that they wouldn't live up to the expectations I had for a series-wrap up fic, but yours was excellent. :)"

Enjoy.

Claire Gabriel

I don't know why it wouldn't work, Marge. StM01 has a zero in it, not the letter O. Could that be it?

Due to circumstances beyond my control, I missed the entire final season of LFN, although I was able to read the scripts afterwards. When I happened upon this site, I was looking forward to reading what other fans had on their minds. I was not expecting to find anything as intense or as enthralling as the actual television show. What I found in SHOOTING THE MOON was far above and beyond any expectations I had.

SHOOTING THE MOON is, without a doubt, a must-read! Claire Gabriel was able to capture the complete essence of Nikita and Michael in what could be referred to as a "page-turner" had it been in book format. Once I started reading, I could not stop!!! Claire has created a wonderful "work of love" in this story. It captured my imagination so well that I actually felt as though I were sitting down in front of the television and watching the show.

Thank you, Claire, for letting me in on this part of LFN - it will stay with me for a long, long time.
