Do the Beta Readers charge money?
No. Beta-reading, like most aspects of the fanfic community, is something that people do because they enjoy it.
Who here is a BR's?
By posting here, you're basically offering your story up for beta by anyone who is available and has the time to offer comments. Many people also form a relationship with one or two specific people, and those people offer comments through e-mail. If you're looking for a beta reader like that, you might try asking on the storyboards.
Or is there software that works as well as a person?
Software can catch some things, like Microsoft Word's spell-checker and grammar checker, but writing, in my opinion, is both intensely personal and a form of art, and that requires a personal touch.
Where is the best reference page for writing styles?
Or which style is most preferable?
There's not any one style that's preferable. Each author develops his or her own style. In my opinion, the only requirements about a story are that it's readable and enjoyable. Of course, each person has his or her own opinion about what *makes* a story readable and enjoyable.
Here are some links to pages that have information and advice about writing. Some are about writing in general; some are specifically about fanfic.
