The Training day is going to be Tuesday June 1st. It is basic open water rescue, strokes, and time to ask questions. The training day is very basic kayak rescue. It will not qualify someone to go out and roll a kayak or rescue in big rough water, but at least it will teach the basics. It will also probably be cold, the lake is an old gravel pit. Wet suits or dry suits for the trip. I have a top and bottom from Galyans, nothing special, but it does the job. We don't expect to be more than 1/4 to 1/2 mile form shore the whole trip with an occasional bay crossing. You may also be interested in a possible weekend easy adventure expedition locally. Think of it as a very easy adventure race style expedition. Just a ton of different activities thrown together. Participants should be active individuals who can hike, bike, kayak, etc for about 10 hours per day at an easy pace. Mostly, it will be at expedition pace (pretty slow) you don't have to be a superstar or anything. We expect to have it sometime in the late summer. It will be local. Hope that helps. Wapiti should be sending more info on the training session (s) later tonight. Hayden >Hello Wapiti et al.
