Commercial GPS equipmentare called GPS receiers for a reason. They receive signals. In order to track a reciever, the location has to be retransmitted to something else. As far as I know, that is beyond the capabilites of the receivers you can get at the store, unless it is hooked to a cell phone or something. For instance, the GM OnStar system uses GPS signals and a cell phone to relay locations to the OnStar callcenter.
