GPS recievers know where the satellites should be at any given moment. They use the differences in the time the signals take to get the receiver, based on distance from the satellite to the reciever, to triangulate the positon. Ancient mariners used time to calculate longitude. They could take a known latitude (based on celestial observation) and cross reference it to the exact time a certain star wuold set to figure out where they were. ak >Three questions of the month to be answered by anyone. > >1.
