Sun Yee Lok was also without a male heir. If he had ideas to place his daughter as the Dragon Head this could prove contentious given that Triad practice stated that a girl could not be leader. His only recourse of action then would be to nominate one of his godsons to be the leader when he stepped down after his years of leadership. He was apparently trying to bring the Triad into the 21st century because he had a daughter and no male heir and those of the old school felt threatened.
