Hey, Sue [whack], I found the scene in "Obsession" where Storm is on the phone, and I think I know what you mean now ... like his eyes move first, then he turns his head.

Good sighting in "The Necklace." You know, we're 3 for 3 right now cuz I just watched "The Eviction" and "Ship o' the Dead" and he does it several times in both episodes. In the beginning of "The Eviction" when he and Jim are sitting together at the table with Jim doing his homework (arguing over how to spell "excellent"), he gives Jim about three whacks. In "Ship o' the Dead," he gives one to Jim about 11 minutes in and later bestows one upon Governor Strong. I'm starting to think it might be more of a challenge to find an episode of LJS where he *doesn't* treat somebody to a friendly whack! :-)

Yeah,Susan (whack) you caught the 'eye-roller' (and whack again). That's the movement that I'm talking about. Don't forget to also check out the scene in his office. It's actually kind of funny. Probably the only funny thing out of the whole film. Oh, except the last comment about a 'near miss'. And, I know I've seen it in some of his other films.

Wow, I'll have to check out more of the LJS series. Ever since we have been in this discussion on the chatboard, I've been having a kind of 'yearning' to watch more of the LJS series. I try to watch maybe one a night. But I thought that he might do that 'whack' more often as LJS than any other character. It was probably natural for him to do it on his own but it also goes with the nature of the LJS character so the director, most likely, just let him 'do it'.
