One more inconsistency with "Robert Louis Stevenson's Treasure Island" I forgot to mention: Stevenson's stepson, for whom he wrote the book, was apparently going through that girls-are-icky stage because, other than brief mentions of Jim's mother, he purposely included no female characters in the story.

They may be trying to be politically correct by adding a Captain Amelia, but the absence of women in the movie (and the book) never bothered me in the least. In fact, I never even *noticed* until I read that bit of trivia! How about you other ladies?
