I agree with most everyone. I think that all ajudicators have had different experiences in their ensemble settings and because of that they will all have different opinions about how to utilize your ensemble based on those experiences. I would say that I think ajudicated events, not necessarily contests, are very beneficial because it may give you ideas that had not occurred to you before. Also with that though you need to know the limitations of what your ensemble can do and you should never sacrifice the overall sound of your ensemble for a comment from an ajudicator who saw one performance that you gave.
