Praxis I is like an adult ACT test. That's all it is. The one you should worry about is the PLT.

I suspect that it's really the Praxis II (PLT) test that you have heard stories about, Nickie. Even for that, the passing rate is high for Heidelberg music students. I don't have exact numbers, but I would say that a majority pass it on the first try and almost everyone passes it by the second try. You just want to pay attention and do the work in your EDU/EIS and Music Ed courses.

Secondly, your chances of passing it on the first try correlate pretty strongly with your performance on the ACT/SAT test in high school. In fact, that's true for most standardized tests. If you did well on the high school-level tests, you'll probably do equally well on the PLT. If your score was below average (national mean on the ACT is around 21 composite), then it will probably take you longer to pass the PLT. There are study materials and test preparation materials available on the internet. Does anyone know the address of the website offhand?
Dr.O.
