"Fifteen dragonets... fifteen!" Ariya swore under her breath. "How are we supposed to keep track of fifteen dragonets who are probably going to be confused by their riders' trains of thoughts, that is if they aren't already?" She was annoyed, and rightly so. There weren't any Probables to recruit, and the Lair staff would quite frankly probably do more harm than help, what with never having taken care of dragonets before.
"More importantly, what are we going to do if a rider gets injured... or worse?" T'lin appeared at her shoulder, eyes darkened in concern. Stalinmount tagged along, and greeted Angerflan.
Talie was all eyes as she listened, "I never thought of that!" A look of panic overtook her pretty features, and Ariya resisted the urge to roll her eyes at the redhead. While she was nice, and most definetely intelligent, she often lacked common sense- either that, or a backbone.
"It hasn't happened yet, and we shouldn't worry needlessly unless it actually does, _____ forbid." Rh'yan joined them, putting an end to Talie's near panic attack. "So who do we have here?"
Ariya looked around, "Rider Keira's Salay, and Rider A'rian's Barronsaln," she pointed out a pair of greens, "The pink with them is Rider Taryn's Sithe."
"And Rider Deleria's Zeerth, with Rider D'rian's Odyession," T'lin noted another pair of greens.
"Yes, and there's Rider M'kar's two- Staphsalin and Kipyen, with... is that Rider Tilana's Salaten and Sansalin?" Ariya squinted at the brown-streaked pink and the white waiting anxiously beside another pair. "But why are her two here? She doesn't have a fighting dragon..."
"No," T'lin agreed, "but there are some riders with more than one fighting dragon, and if you've ever encountered Rider Tilana, you'd see she isn't exactly the type to sit around and wait."
"I'm not, either, T'lin!" Ariya snapped defensively, "But I wouldn't fight with anyone but Angerflan."
T'lin's eyes grew wide, and he put up his hands as if to ward off her sudden anger, "I wasn't saying that-"
"That still leaves six," Talie interrupted, unintentionally but effectively stopping the argument-in-progress.
Rh'yan pointed out that their four- Dameroth, Cameroth, Stalinmount, and Angerflan- were in attendance. "And one gold besides- that would be Flo, which means Weyring'll be here to help out."
"There's still a blue," Ariya's eyes flickered to the line of riders. "Liena- Liena's fighting? But she's-"
"... One of us," T'lin finished quietly, watching the sixteen-year-old girl lined up with her two greens, white-blond hair tucked in her riding helmet. Her face was grim and distant, and her blue Falnth was appropriately somber as she watched from the knot of huddled dragonets. For a long moment, no one spoke.
