1. nuclear know- how reportedly traveled via black market: Pakistan's nuclear weapons program and a former aide had black- market contacts that supplied sensitive technology to Iran and Libya. The United States said it had assurance from Musharraf that Pakistan wasnˇ¦t involved in the nuclear trade.
2. Bird Flu spreads to Pakistan: Avian influenza spread to Pakistan yesterday. Two million chickens have died from a mild form of the disease.
3. Pakistan rounds up noted scientists: a group of plainclothes agents came at suppertime on January 17, just as Ahmed, 57, a top engineer for Pakistanˇ¦s nuclear program, was receiving guests.
