Wed, January 28, 2004 - Two more die form severe respiratory illnesses, to be exact, the “bird flu.” The Bird Flu is a lot like the respiratory illness SARS. It has killed 10 confirmed Vietnamese people in both north and south Vietnam. The disease has mostly affected children, and has been recovered by mostly all of them. The virus, if combined with a human virus, could be made very lethal. Millions of chickens who were thought to have the virus were slaughtered over the past months.

Tues, January 27, 2004 – Many flu cases to be on the way. Six people have died out of an 8 affected. The H5N1 virus has been spreading all over Vietnam in the last months. “We expect many more cases of the virus to come” says the World Health Organization.

Wed, January 21, 2004 – Flu vaccines are having trouble making their way to Vietnam. The Vietnamese people have been the most infected by the H5N1 virus but Vietnam does not have a contract with makers of the vaccine. This means countries with only 1 person infected get more of the vaccine than a country, such as Vietnam, with 15 people with the virus. The World Health Organization is trying to fix this problem however.
