Three current events that have happened in Iran are, the earthquake that hit Bam, Iran killing more than 32,000 leaving many children without parents. Many countries including the U.S. came to Bam, Iran to help the people there. Another current event that happened was in October involving the first Iranian Muslim women Shirin Ebadi to win the Noble Peace Prize for her work trying to bring democracy to the Middle East. The third current event in Iran is the first Iranian women was nominated for an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress, Shohreh Aghdashloo was the lucky lady to be nominated for her role in House of Sand and Fog portraying an Iranian immigrant that sees her and her family go through the struggles of life.
