 m&m, if you ever get the chance to do it, do it. I've done the a.m. feed before dawn on Christmas morning, my warm, smelly friends nickering softly as soon as they heard my footsteps. I've seen babies born, known whole horse "families." I know that a team of draft horses "talks" before tackling a tough hill. And if one's lazy, the other takes care of it. I still dream about raceway, the long, winding run that led to prairie loop and the best sunsets anywhere. And a bonfire smells best seasoned with a little processed hay and water ;-)
