I thought right away of a line that I read in Jane Hamilton's "The Book of Ruth" that stood out to me in much the same way...

"With a baby you have to look at the world as if someone has just given you a pair of eyes for the first time"

Just like Holly said above, it also reminded me of your great piece about a storm that reflected your feelings about it...to already see the parallels between yourself and Cat even before she's at the talking stage is so awesome! Very nice piece that I bet she'll love to see sometime! :)
