] Date Posted: 21:26:38 02/12/04 Thu The NDA's decision to spend public money on ads does not defy the tenets of morality, wholly and I am not incongruous with the Prime Minister, when he defends the same. This is because, during the NDA's reign, the media chose to take an anti-government stance and hence did not communicate its achievements to the people, in the terms it deserved. As such, it fell incumbent upon the government to take-up the task itself and hence these expensive ads. No government would desire that its achievements like economic boost, multiplication in the number of trains, undertaking of citizen-friendly schemes, culmination of foreign ties, a period of peace in Kashmir etc.may go unnoticed and so does the NDA.
