Subject: My mom!!

For those of us lucky enough to still have our parents.
There is a common need to learn how to "cope!"

Anyone have suggestions--other than using drugs? (not on them, on us--I'm kidding)

Karen's trip to MCM

My Mom has a couple infected toenails, and we think has also pulled a muscle
in her back. She called me yesterday am saying she was in pain, so I took a
flying trip to Mac. Well, after giving her a muscle relaxer and pain pill,
she was perking up. Took her bath, washed her head and gave me instruction on
how to make a soup she had been thinking about. Now when I left Hillsboro
with my bags packed for a two day stay I thought she was willing to go to
emergency; ha ha; fat chance. She had made quite a recovery in the course of
4 hours. I had changed her sheets, did her laundry, fed her lunch and snack,
fixed her hair, her soup was done and smelled very good so she was not about
to budge. Oh yes, another major factor in never going to seek medical care
that may place her "God forbid" in the hospital over nite is at 10pm every
night she has two beers; "To help me sleep!" She thinks that the hospital
would never allow such, we told her we would sneak her two beers in if that
was keeping her back, I don't think she trusts me. So it goes, bless her
heart. I was able to sleep in my own bed last night, not on a couch in Mac.
