I had a few thoughts while reading this, about abusive parents in general, and about Zack's dad.

The fact that Zack's dad hides and pressures Zack to hide the abuse tells me that he knows it's wrong deep down. That he's the bad guy. Or maybe he thinks it's acceptable, but his wife doesn't agree, I guess that could be true, too.

That was such an emotional scene for me to read with his mom and dad in the kitchen. And him having to tip toe around his volatile father. And his mother being the polar opposite, making him feel warm and comfortable. But he fears for her too, cause his dad is a violent, unpredictable jerk.

But it also sounds like he's still doubting and blaming himself, which saddens me most of all. He's so innocent and faultless in all this. But his dad's managed to manipulate him into thinking he's the problem.

I'm really worried for our boys, and his dad finding out about Zack and Brody's relationship, and reacting in some extreme way. I know we're getting close to the end, but I've no idea how it's going to play out. I simultaneously love it and fear it. Lol.
