You know, wasnt going to say anything on board, but here i sit in hotel rooom, waiting to travel home, thinking about last night. Getting more mad by the minute.
I wont go into history...mostly because there is none. DAMIEN from what I hear was soo worried about fair judging, he approached the show personel and talked about that. You see I was on stage and 2 of my friends were on the judging panel. Hmm...so frickin what, I know all of the judges and consider all friends. Well, to ease "suspicions" Mike requested that those two friends not judge me, and placed two others to judge the division. No problem yet for me, didnt know about it, but safe thing for mike to do I guess.
I won with all first place votes..unanimous!
No we are on stage for awards presentation. Been working for this day for the last 22 weeks, you all know what I am talking about. Trying to prove myself as a legitimate contender, want this more than anything in life possibly. 5th place called, 4 place called, 3rd place called, and I have to say now i am starting to feel good, just beat a very good bodybuilder that I respect highly, Matt Franco, so I am feeling pumped...really happy. Now I stand next to Damian, tap his hand as a gesture of congratulations, and good time competing with you, I believe at this point he pats me on the head, I take it as nothing, but deep inside i am thinking, get your hand off my head, dont demean me on the stage. 2nd place is called, Your champ #1 Keith Provost....I am so frickin happy right now, fists clenched, pounding in the air , just really happy....THEN
Booo, Boooo, Booooo crowd is going crazy, for oh 2 seconds maybe a few more i am....wow, booing because I won, hit me hard, thousand things running through my mind in 2 seconds, then I turn and see that Damien had run off the stage in protest.
I move my statue over, hit a "to hell with you punk" front double bi for the crowd, but mostly at this point for me, and quietly walk off stage to many congratulations from my friends.
Damien, you stole from me...you stole my 2 seconds of glory that I worked so hard for. for that I say to hell with you Brotha, you are no friend of mine.
Now I dont want to end this passage with such hostility so, to everyone else, had a wonderful time, love the sport, the genuine people who I feel so fortunate to have as friends, and the self satisfaction it gives me to be part of it. Take Care, see you in Baltimore

I cant thank the team ,judges and friends that all came together to make this show a huge event.Except for one , the competitor unity,sportsmanship and class was at the top of all shows that we have put on.

we could only make it to the pre-judging but that was worth the $40..I think i bought your last double x t -shirt. Its probably better we werent there for the night show because i'd most likely have to scrape my wife off the amateur who left early....she'd kick his winey ass....... As a long time competitor, judge and promoter I feel that I have experianced the best, and worst in bodybuilding productions. I have experianced many great times, and many bad ones as well. I have come to know Mike over the years and watched him grow to be an outstanding natural pro. He treats his peers with respect and aleays takes time to help the new guys out. This is what the character of bodybuilding is all about. Anyway, when asked to judge this show I was excited, I know the man and I knew he would put on a good show. I was not dissapointed. This was by far one of the best shows I ever attended. The line up was fantastic, the goody bags stuffed, every was given an award, Neils awords at that! Nice venue, great judges and I made lots of new friends. I always travel to compete so I can see how things are in various geographic areas. Its funny how bodybuilders can be tight in one area and kind of distant and crappy to each other in another. The support you guys in NY give each other is outstanding! Your all champions and I see the real message of natural bodybuilding is alive and well up there. I look foreward to compeating in one of the pro shows up there and I hope to return again and judge. If not I'll make the 6 hour drive just to support you all up there. A few notes, the guest posing was fantastic. I loved the opining act, but my lord Kent that was just off the hook! Brother I am so glad we are not going up against each other in Baltimore! Every class was stacked and that was the best 40+ I have ever seen. Big crowd and lots of support and nice little expo. Mike your a great bodybuilder, and that has nothing to do with your physique. You really get it my friend and thank you for letting me be part of this. NYS peeps, you guys and ladies rule! I salute you all! I only hope the SOA can compete with the NYS. Good luck in Baltimore guys.

PS: Yes, I did take issue with one comp attitude problem and was considering a serious sanction; however, I was contacted by this person and he has given a sincere apology. I feel that this person should also apoligize to everyone, and if he has and I missed it then I am sorry. I feel this person is an EXCELLENT bodybuilder and will be a pro some day, but I also feel he was placed properly. No rom for poor conduct in natural bodybuilding and I honest feel this person now understands this and I will not be seeking any sanctions against him.

I chilled out under advisement yesterday :)
I put up a web page of the video that I was able to take at the show. Now it is Home video, not complete not edited just video. You will hear my friends saying I have no chance at beating that big dude Bob, maybe a few swear words and some goofy camera movements. Other than that it is what it is.
Mike, I pulled your sponsors images off your site and placed them around the video, if there is a problem with that let me know, figured a bit more exposure will make them happy!

Thanks to all who made the NYS Natural such a great show and experience for me: Mike and his crew--you guys did phenomenal with that many competitors, smooth and a pleasure to be a part of; Sully and his judges (one of the best, if not the best, head judges around!); all the great competitors backstage; the wild, supportive crowd!
I met a lot of folks, lots of names in so short of a time I apologize for those I forget. Keith, thanks for introducing yourself backstage and it was an honor standing next to you onstage, congrats on taking your class; Rolando and his crew--great job and thanks for making me feel so welcome. Lot's of great support backstage between competitors, I wish I could have met more of you.
I flew cross-country from Northern California to do this show for several reasons, but mainly: I've competed in the West for about 1 1/2 years and have done fairly well, but it seems to me that the hotspot of Natural Bodybuilding has become the East Coast. There are far more shows and more competitors. I flew cross country to stand onstage and see how I could do against the best that Natural Bodybuilding has to offer. AND YOU GUYS DIDN'T DISAPPOINT! AWESOME COMPETITORS AND PHYSIQUES! It was my privilege to stand onstage with you guys! You made me feel welcome and were very supportive.

If you dont mind, i am going to take up some screen space here and tip my hat to two people, friends of mine.
I met Tracy DeBrita Gamelin at my show. She was first a pesky newbie who had thousands of questions for me the month prior to my show. We met during registration and became good friends. Tracy and I had the same situation, hired a trainer for the first time, so we started training together about once per week, spotting each other and taking pictures to send to our trainer. In my oh 25 years in the gym, I have never seen the heart and time, the devotion to "training" by any woman before, and most men.
Mind you not that easy to get along with sometimes, very stubborn, but very driven. She clearly is one of the best the USBF and OCB has to offer.
Usually the case, topics that revolve around the men dominate this board, so i wanted to let everyone know that another trial and success, another victory took place on saturday, and it was very nice to see. Congratulations Tracy, you deserve your glory!
My second spotlight shines on Kent Bierly. Not for his guest posing but for his taking the chance as a promoter, and giving the pro qualified women in bodybuilding and figure an opportunity to compete as Pro's. That is awesome and Kent should be congratulated on this move. Especially by the women. You now can do something with your qualifaction in the USBF. Compete as a Pro, have that respect and status a Pro athlete is privy to. Now I add, support it by competing in the competition. If it is a success, more promoters including myself, will strongly conside adding other shows. Now is the time, take advantage of this opportunity. Kent, way to go, I commend you for taking the forward step for women's bodybuilding and figure competitors.

to everyone from the judges, promoter, and especially the competitors great job last nite you all made the day a successful hit. being away for a year+ and coming back to a quality show really made the hard work in preparing for it worthwhile. everyone should commend themselves. future endeavors is to do the show in may and come in with some freakish legs to go with my top. its funny how a year off or just time off can benefit the body as far putting more muscle on or just eager enough to get back on stage, it was awesome to get back on. competeing against you daryl sorry if i mispelled your name was a pleasure why did we wait so long to face each other on stage your a great competitor and i consider you a friend.lasly jack youve come so far from when i first met you, good job and keep working hard. to all fellow competitors be on the look out i came in second in the lightweight division but i am coming for my pro card definitely next year. sorry for all the rambling on i usually dont do this but its been real will talk to you all soon keep workingout hard because you know i will. out for now.dan

What I found was a great group of down to earth people and fair judging. Mike and Doug, it was a pleasure to meet you both and appreciate you making me feel at home.

...In regards to me walking off stage last night, my apology to the competitors and the fans! The level of emotion I had last night was at an all time high. Anyone who really knows me knows how much I love to see everybody feel comfortable with eachother. I am not embarrassed but dissappointed in the outcome of what happened. As ome of you may know there was a conflict between Keith and I. He said many things to degrade me and my calibur! So to everone who wants to hate on me that is ok but you all must realize a few things I have never once steped out of line with anyone and if I did I would immediately apoligize to the person. If you know me you know my HEART is huge and I meant know disrespect, in fact I felt I was disrespected, lied to, minipulated, and fell victum to politics. I aslo wanted to add to everyone who I met and competed with great job on your physique accomplishment! Lastly, I want to give a hughe thanks to Vince "The Heater Man" for his kind words and help along with his lovely lady freind. (sorry I forget your name) To Frank "The Tank" my man the 60 yr old veteran, you tha man. Kirk, the guys from Bingamton, The cool brazilian dudes, and to Halz for putting on a spectacular show. Once again I apoligize for leaving the stage, perhaps in the future the pics and the video will demonstrate the "Political" aspect and how flabbergasted I am/was.

I just want to say that the show was great last night! the venue, the judging, the quality of competitors, etc. usually at a drug free show you only get a few good competitors in a class - not the case in this show. i felt that each class was very deep and could have gone many different ways. what was up with that welter class - wow! the thing i liked best was that the judging was very consistent - obviously, everyone wants to win, but as long as the judging is consistent across the board, it's great. by the way, that sully guy was the best head judge i've seen - great job.

Great job taking the middles Jack. That was a very tough class. Lou looked great. The top 5 were extremely competitive. But no one can deny the Hulksters 24 inch pythons!

Well, final coount down... Some are in last stages of loading with water, cutting sodium, taking potassium, carb loading, putting first coat of color on and so on. Nerves may be on edge, anxious to compete, looking forward to saturday morning to see who shows up. Watching people weigh in to see a glimpse of what they brought. Preparing food and practicing that last few times of their routine and mandatories. WOW. Awsome shit!
I cant wait, really looking forward to competing and talking with all of you crazy people.
Just wanted to say good luck to everyone, from what I hear, he/she who wins this one, has some pretty hefty bragging rights, makes it all that much more electrifying to be competing. Mike, thanks in advance for what is to be an awesome competition. Safe Trip everyone. See you Saturday, friday night at host hotel.

Rounded out the top three . Other notables Larry ray jr. 9th ,Mike Uzar 11th and Damon Gillis 12th . This had to be a tough show to judge.

The figure will defintely be split into three classes.
Mens juniors might be split in two.
Every open class has five or more in a class
Mens novice is still one class at this time.
Masters will be 35 -40
40 - 50
50 - 60
60 -up
This show is bigger than last years NYS. I hope its not as big as the Liberty just because I want everyone to enjoy it. We will do the best to make sure you enjoy it.
