Subject: Merry Christmas!!

Merry Christmas everybody!!! I finally got time to come on the board! I hope everyone has had a Fabulous holiday! Girls, did Santa Claus bring you everything you wanted??? He sure was good to me! Last night I ate so much I fell asleep on the couch....:) Anyway, everyone please remember the true meaning of Christmas. CHRISTmas! plus, it's my birthday LOL! :) Gosh 35 already.... It was 35 years ago today that my mother celebrated Christmas while waiting for a baby that was 2 weeks late... Well, right after dinner, around 6:30 in the evening, it was time... little Doug was on his way and then shortly after at 8:28 PM, Doug arrived. I finally made my appearance to a young couple and a brother who had been anxiously awaiting... Mom jokingly told the doctor that she would certainly interrupt his Christmas Day dinner. Well, it did interrupt it in a big way.. Doug got here.. You see, back in those days, a lot of people would have their babies at doctors offices or small community hospitals.. I was born in White Pine, TN at the Allen/Baker clinic...that place was such a small hospital that I think it had 6 patient rooms and a nursery. 2 assistants and the doctor came in and brought me into the world.. I guess they were nurses, mom said they were young, probably right out of high school. They were 2 African American girls that were so nice to come in and volunteer their time on Christmas Day! I wish I could meet those 2 young ladies and thank them... If not for them, the doctor would have probably had a rough time.. Anyway, the nurses or helpers were the only ones to get me to quieten down... LOL! I was a loud baby.. LOL! I have seen Doctor Allen from time to time over the years and have thanked him several times!! I hope I didn' t bore you with my little story. Anyway, I thought I would share this little story with you all.. It is and was a true Christmas story that happened.. So everyone, please cherish your children. Every single child is SPECIAL!! If you just get one moment of the day, any day, seize that moment and appreciate your little ones and all of your loved ones... because tomorrow comes fast and before you know it the future will be in the past!! Well, we are getting ready to go around the table again and again and again for great food!! I will be back on the board on Thursday for a Happy New Year wish posting!! MERRY CHRISTMAS!!! Doug
