BERLIN (Reuters) - A German judge took the law into his own hands and peppered a teenager with lead shot when snowballs went astray and hit the wall of his house, a court in the northern town of Lueneburg says.
"Two 16-year-olds were having a snowball fight, and the judge's house got hit. Then the light went on, the door opened, and a shotgun fired off two rounds," said court spokesman Juergen Wigger on Wednesday. "The judge was alone at home."
He said one of the boys' mothers saw her son had been shot in the arm and called the police who arrested the 55-year-old judge and confiscated the firearm.
Investigations were continuing.

Russian dies after winning vodka-drinking contest
MOSCOW (Reuters) - A vodka-drinking competition in a southern Russian town ended in tragedy with the winner dead and several runners-up in intensive care.
"The competition lasted 30, perhaps 40 minutes and the winner downed three half-litre bottles. He was taken home by taxi but died within 20 minutes," said Roman Popov, a prosecutor pursuing the case in the town of Volgodonsk.
"Five contestants ended up in intensive care. Those not in hospital turned up the next day, ostensibly for another drink."
Popov said the director of the shop organising this month's contest had been charged with manslaughter. He had offered 10 litres of vodka to the competitor drinking the most in the shortest time.
Russians drink the equivalent of 15 litres of pure alcohol per head annually, one of the highest rates in the world. Some experts estimate one in seven Russians is an alcoholic

As a dedicated fan of Supermort and His Incredible Adventures I would like to ask Louis how long it will be before we can read of His exploits at Leipzig. I feel that I speak for most of the readers of the TCI when I say that I eagerly await His honest accounts of how He fared in Germany, written in His usual elegant prose, modest description, devastating wit and wry satire.

I agree with Blanc, for one year I have asked to my corporal to take the gamelle, now I'm the corporal I can order to carry the gamelle. In my opinion is very distinguished in the hobby.

At Peschiera only the 1re escouade did carry theirs - in fact mine, Gernot where is our escouade gamelle, in Leipzig the Italians followed en suite, which was a good moral lift to see that they care for such tings, but what is with the rest, Gernot and me took great pains to research these items and to get them re produced, now we have the best gamelles in the hobby and they are no carried by some escouades.

Ich see several home pages from the Leipzig Re - enactment, while we figure to be there - in one photo on the bakground - we are absent as unit on all others - it seems that we are a very unattractive unit to be on photos for the general public

Just some news, the injuries of the artillery crew, it seems that the hand is not jet amputated and it is diagnosed as a severe compound fracture, the other guy seems to have lust the upper half of his thumb, the police is investigating and examines the gun.
Otherwise I have not seen any photos of l'Incomparable yet, plenty of other units but not us.
I enjoyed the event a lot and it is BAD - that we could not all stay together on Sunday till 13.00 to do some needed drill together.
