Tyrsis held Damuthca gently, not even looking up as the Emperor stepped forward. She had already Seen it once, watching it happen again would change nothing, not now. If only she had been stronger...
...but that was despair speaking. She had let go of that emotion long ago, it no longer held place in her life. She had done what she had originally set out to do.
Golden eyes raised, though Damuthca remained cradled in her arms, roles strangely reversed even as weariness rested inside of her. Her wings never even bladed, she didn't have the energy for it. He was as he had looked in every vision, every flicker of light against dark that she had caught out of the corner o her eye.
"Without darkness, we never see the light." She ignored his comment, ignored the memory of it that breifly flickered behind barely glazed eyes. "Without pain, we do not feel joy."
She remembered, even where Zenra only remembered vague feelings, emotions that felt more like dreams. Tyrsis remembered. Despair had died a long time ago, in a world she felt entirely alone thinking about. Pride had died in Escalvone in a trade of her life for her people's. A price to each of them, both held and let go.
"If there is something you want, ask for it." Her fingers brushed Damuthca's cheek, feeling his breath soft against her hand as he lay there. "I'm tired of the game. I'm tired of exchanging one token for another, but I will do it one last time. You have my queen, you have my lord," Her hand paused on Damuthca, "Let them go."
