 At the sound of drums she sighed, garnet wings unfolded from Damuthca and very gently she brushed the blood from his cheek. She would not have to seek him, he had come. The ground vibrated beneath her feet as she stepped to the door, barefoot and ragged as she opened it. Dashell was in the doorway, looking outward from the dojung as though expecting an arrival.

He didn't look back as he spoke. "Take Damuthca to the temple. They need to know what has happened."

"If they see him..." Tyrsis began, though interupted quickly and sharply.

"If they don't," Dashell turned finally, his eyes cold green stones set within his face. "Are you prepared to accept a new High Dragon."

She blinked, surprised. Dashell didn't know about the Sword, she had never told him.

"I've only seen him without that blade once, Tyrsis, and that was when you carried it. Get out there and do what you have to." Dashell turned back to the doorway.
