She hated being the oldest, and it was happening far too often anymore.

"...and we give..." Her words were soft, as usual, a quiet that carried across sparks of energy and tendrils of darkness. Light flashed in her eyes, half blinding her. She spoke in Escalvonian, her words heavily accented. As a child, each Escalvonian learned their ancient ancestry, learned the languages of their forefathers, even if it was a language rarely spoke out loud. Her words were thick with the language they all spoke commonly, but distinguishable none the less. "What are we giving, Kenji?"

If he had taken the scroll, finding one amongst thousands, he would know the language she spoke. She didn't care if this leader of light would or not. She wasn't talking to him. As she spoke, she stood again, bare feet cold and unaware of the runes that flashed across her eyes at memory of reading the scroll.

"...and we give..."
