Dias realized how unshielded he was at the moment, as confusion set in, as he struggled to cope with a sudden influx of emotions that weren't his.

He was only vaguely aware they weren't his, and it was difficult to keep from being overwhelmed by the emotions that suddenly assailed him.

"I... see," he said haltingly, shaking his head and trying to avoid losing conciousness from the sudden use of empathic abilities.

More importantly, the emotion was intense. It wasn't like a ghost, it was more like someone had literally ripped a living soul from a body.

That wasn't a nice thought.
