He was honored, actually, but there was still a fear that lingered. What if it went to his head. Sure he was more than likely the most powerful mage on Aurora, but that never gave him the right to abuse it. He dedicated himself to learning the only craft that he could think of that was the ultimate protection, until the coming of Wyrd and null.

Again his words stuck in his throat and he looked down and away. He felt eyes of the divine on him, and it was a bit unnerving. The eyes of his goddess were upon his as well, even after what she had done to him he had never given up on her. The youthful accept the mistakes of their elders when they don't know any better.

He was meek when he finally spoke up, a hollow fear settled gently in his chest like soft ache.
