Yomi had her head dreamily in Lashana's lap before she raised her head and looked toward the door. There was a ping on the Weave. A strange ping that Yomi didn't recognize. A ping without wings or a natural talent for magic. She got up, and went over to the window.

"Momma, what's that?" she asked offhandedly, as though she figured Lashana might know. She didn't know what a human was.
