The air vibrated and Tiani felt her left wing twitch, the fire in the air dying out as swiftly as it had come. She couldn't concentrate n both controlling the little bit of flame and moving at the same time. It was her reason for the darkness earlier.

She called herself stupid as her actions took longer than she had to deflect the bolt of even simply move. As she began to turn, the bolt connected, missing her spine by inches and connecting beneath the arch of her batlike wings. Hers held a flaw that the Forgotten's did not possess, they connected differently to her back. A wet crack peirced the air, crunching the bone of her shoulder blade as it peirced and stuck deep. The bone saved her lungs, however, something in the back of her mind urging her not to move or the deadly tip might puncture them.

Green eyes looked at Kami for half a second before she found the floor beneath her hands and knees, the pain that lanced through her shoulderblade spreading across her body and driving out consciousness before any substance coating the bolt might have had a chance.

Not to self: Don't light fires in drow cities.
