This is no new for me; maybe it is news for you.
The ideal society should have equal rights for all who are born. No one should be discriminated based on his or her sexual orientation.
That means no heterosexual should be discriminated against because he or she is straight, on the other hand, no homosexual should be discriminated against because he is gay or she is a lesbian.
That is the 'perspective' of more civil society with secular government who support human rights.
By nature, non-heterosexuals would always be the sexual minority. When different countries started to decriminalized homosexual acts, those who oppose to this chance have 'bet' that there would be an increase of homosexual population.
It didn't happened.
The proposed anti-discrimination based on sexual orientation has included heterosexuals already.
The expected outcome would be a more harmonized society that will not have openly discriminatory behavior against an individual based on his or her sexual orientation, be it heterosexual or homosexual.
With that said, religious freedom is one of the concern. And church or any anti-gay religion could continue their practice within their religious institute or religious service without any interference of the secular law.
The question remains. Should persons be allowed to discriminate against another individual based on his or her personal religious belief at a non-religious setting? What I try to ask is, if a Christian wants to openly discriminate against gay at work. Is that what anyone would be considered as 'religious freedom'?
