如果從當時代的女性來說，我相信會有些受害人是願意嫁犯事人的(可參看舊約一些曾受此害的處女)，基於之前我所說過的一些原因。當然，如果受害人真的不願給犯事人，女子可選擇不嫁給他，但犯事人仍要將聘金給予女子的父家。(這算是罰款吧。)當然這刑罰並不足以彌補受害人所受的傷害，(從來罪惡所給人的傷害都不是刑罰所能彌補的)。若以當時的刑罰看，神吩咐處理一般罪惡的刑罰都是以「以牙還牙，以眼還眼，以手還手，以命還命。」的公平原則，不可多罰，也不可少罰，使犯事人得他應得的報應，亦不會使追討人對犯事人的報仇升級。
我想問你，你認為那罪還可以有怎樣更合理的刑罰？
