you are right, i cannot extend my "有人" to jews, including modern jews, the hebrew scripture is their VERY history and identity, "believing" is taken for granted for them, they have no choice (except for a very small portion of very non-conforming jews)

this is a very plausible argument

but modern conservative christians have no obligation to preserve that tradition, they are free to keep it or not, they keep it most probably to protect the trusworthiness of the portion of the bible on which they have built their own faith
