 I wonder how many people can remember who was their very first "friend" as a kid...
I know who mine was, and I can not believe that after so many years (35 or more years) since we last spoke and then lost touch over the years, he went through the trouble to search for me. He of course had no idea I was searching for him on the web for years too. I had about given up on ever reconnecting.
Then I had a very pleasant surprise phone call on Christmas Eve, out of the clear blue from this, my very very first friend on the planet, Wayne Heter. His family lived up on Windsor Highway right next to Parkway Drive. I was a year or two older than Wayne, but we can still laugh about him walking down from his house to mine in his diapers when he was no more than 2 years old or so...
It made my Christmas this year - nothing else came close, except for being able to spend it with my Mom, who just turned 91 on Dec.27th, and my 3 daughters, all in their 20's now...
