How well I remember Rosenfeld's grocery on the corner of First and Chambers. That's where we bought the Jewish buns for .24 a dozen. I lived right across the street. Does anyone remember Louie Ciffarelli that was the delivery boy for Mr. Rosenfeld? He lived in New Windsor, but came way up in our neighborhood on his bike to work after school. He went in the navy during the Korean War. I often wondered what happened to him. Right next door to Harry Hart's was a barber shop and I have been racking my brain to remember the Italian man that owned it. His wife's name was Rose. In my mind I can still see them sitting outside in front of the barber shop. On the corner of First and Lander, directly across from Lockett's Dry Cleaning, on the south west corner was a store called Levy's where you could buy hand packed ice cream by the quart or pint. It changed hands when I moved away. It was kind of a drug store. 49, where was your father's store?
