Yes George I remember those parades, even marched in a few with the Girl Scouts. Out here our parades last 15 minutes. The only band is the high school band. I stopped going a few years ago. We are the only ones on our street with the flag out. My husband was in the Merchant Marine during WW2, our son was a Marine from 1984-1988, our oldest grandson was in the Army as an MP and now a policeman.

It is a shame the way things are forgotten during these days.
