ALECTO FR-8 + earphones

First of all; THANKS for all the great info on your pages. I was very surprised to read that the alecto fr-8 is the same as a busch, vivanco, goodmans, ...
Since two years or so I have a set of alecto FR-8's. Now, I tried to use an earset (telecom PY-29-A). It works with the handset vox-function activated, the talk button on the ear set mic pushed and VERY loud speaking in the mic. All the same scenario as can be read in the vivanco FP-200 review on Spoddy's site. So I tried to switch the handset's PTT-mode by switching off and on again, with the up-button pushed, like it is mentioned in this very same document. Despite this, it doesn't seem to work with my alecto's. I tried some other 'push-button-combo's', but nothing helps me. Anyone who can give me some advice? I already contacted the Belgian importer of alecto (hesdo bvba in Antwerp) but they do not react to my e-mails (2 already).
