Yes, I have had the awesome experience of seeing two of my friends give birth, although one was on videotape. I forgot that there are ways of conceiving without wet sticky sex (although I think they might all involve some ejaculation on the part of a male and even masturbation is a form of wet sticky sex). I'm glad to see that I haven't thought of it all. But, I'm pretty sure the Virgin Mary wasn't artificially inseminated. I wish that these conversations were more live so that I could see the expressions on people's faces and hear the tones in their voices because I'm not sure what people's intentions are with these responses. I'm not sure if Becca and/or Joshua are playfully toying with me and my ideas or if one or both of them are really triggered by what I've said and are issuing challenges or even somewhat attacking me. Certainly the responses that called me arrogant and self-centered left me wondering whether I was even being heard or if I was just setting off someone's defense mechanisms. If there was an enlightening message in there somewhere, I found it hard to receive. If anyone is feeling triggered by what I've said, I would like to invite them to explore what it is that is so threatening to them. I've read over everything that I've written and can't find anything but one person's thoughts. All I've tried to do is explain where I'm coming from and I see that some have found it validating and others perhaps not. But, I'm only offering it, not trying to change anyone else's mind. So take it or leave it, but if you find yourself judging me harshly, I hope you will take an opportunity to get to know me in person and find out if that judgment still feels true.
